Luke Evans for Police
POLICE gets Luke Evans to join the ranks
Cult eyewear label POLICE has recruited Welsh actor Luke Evans as its newest brand ambassador. The ruggedly handsome Evans joins an impressive list of leading men; since POLICE launch in 1983, Bruce Willis, George Clooney, David Beckham and Antonio Banderas have all faced the high-end brand.
The blue mirror lens sunglasses that Evans wears in the new campaign have been a cult classic since the 1990s and, looking as good as they do on Evans, these shades could well be in for a resurgence. Masculine, cool and the sort of brand that looks good no matter what you’re wearing, POLICE is the go-to label for guys wanting slick, high quality sunglasses – and more recently – watches and accessories. “The POLICE brand compliments whatever I’m wearing,” says Evans. “Whether it’s a suit or jeans and a t-shirt with a leather jacket.”
This year is set to be a big year for Evans. He’s staring alongside John Cusack in Edgar Allen Poe’s highly anticipated thriller, The Raven, which is out in cinemas on March 9th. Then later in the year, he’s set to star in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. With another thriller (called No One Lives) in the can and due for release this year as well as a British Indie film called Ashes also set for a 2012 release, it’s a good thing that Evans has a ready supply of sunglasses. He’s going to need them; this guy is about to become a household name.
